What I Did on my Thanksgiving Vacation...

Gerhard and I spent 10 days in Florida, celebrating Thanksgiving and visiting with my parents and brother's family, who came from Michigan. His two daughters (3 and 5 years old) were one of the highlights of the trip. Not only are they cute, they are smart, too.

Since we arrived on Thanksgiving Day, my mom made a complete Thanksgiving dinner for Friday, including her delicious pecan pie. Gerhard golfed almost every day while I usually spent the day with my family - going to the beach or hanging out at the pool.

We left Florida on the first weekend in December and headed up to Chicago. Our house is still for sale. The real estate market in our community is particularly slow. There are over 50 homes in our price range but only two have sold in the last few months. As you know, I got my real estate license in May 2005, but since we knew we were possibly relocating to Asia, I never pursued a career. The law requires 6 continuing education classes every two years to keep your license current, so I spent two days fulfilling my CE. There is no way I ever want to take that exam again!

Gerhard returned to Singapore (someone in this family has to work!) and I enjoyed a whole week catching up with friends , going to a bead show and getting my Midwest fix.
